A pro window manager called FancyZones.

This first preview includes two utilities: When done, release the Shift key.Yesterday the Windows Team announced the first preview and code release of PowerToys for Windows 10. Move the mouse pointer to another edge and repeat the procedure, until satisfied. Rotate the Scroll wheel of the mouse to slide that edge of the window beyond and under the corresponding edge of the fancy zone, making the window bigger while keeping the other edges stationary.

Next, move the mouse pointer close to one of the inner borders of the dropped window, while still holding down Shift. Here's how I'd envision this to work: using the Shift key while dragging from the title bar of a window, drag the window to a fancy zone and drop it there, but keep Shift pressed. In this case, the aspect ratio is fixed so the more vertical space there is available for the content, the more of the horizontal space gets used as well.

On a widescreen monitor, when displaying two windows with widescreen content, split vertically.

That is, I'd like to set a negative margin for the top, left, right and bottom edges that would expand the window dimensions beyond the edges of the selected fancy zone, making it bigger, without actually showing the (uninteresting) areas outside the zone. When dragging a window into a zone, I'd like to be able to adjust the positioning of the window so that the area displayed within the zone shows only the actually interesting area within the window.
